There's something profound and humbling about seeing this magnificent animal pour her life into crossing that finish line. We humans have to sort out the politics, the ethics, the economics, scrutinize every element for possible wrongdoing, live for awhile with the image of this incredible work of nature on her knees those last fleeting moments and wonder what, if anything we can - or ought - to do. I think maybe these race horses are started way too young...they are broke early and are in training before their bones have enough time to grow and mature and with such extensive workouts, the bones never grow properly.
